A tour of my Home Workshop/Office aka "Man Cave"
I am behind on my Python learning so I thought for a change of pace I would take some pictures of my Man Cave. As well as a test of posting through the busy.org interface to SteemIt.
my desk
This is a 30 year old desk I picked up used. I have built some shelves on top of it that contain books that I want handy access to. The old Mac Pro is one I was going to recycle for someone else and discovered it just need a different GPU. I keep it around so I can play with macOS. I occasionally help a non-profit and they run primarily Mac computers.
Computer Workstation
Here are a couple of shelves that I store some parts boxes with Raspberry Pi, Arduino and other electronic boards that I am experimenting with. I took out the bottom shelf on the right hand side and slid a small table that is the correct height for keyboard use. The monitors are placed on the next shelf to be closer to proper eye level.
On the left hand shelving unit I have three home built computers (two are down lower than the picture shows. You may also notice the Printrbot 3D printer I built from a kit. I need to spend more time learning how to design and print things like cases for Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects.
Electronics 1
This is probably the most crowded area. In the upper left is my solar batteries and solar power control board that I describe in earlier posts. As you can see I have a large amount of parts bins containing, various electronic components, wires as well a collection of small fasteners. In the lower portion you can see some of my most commonly used tools for working with small electronic projects. Middle left of the picture (hard to see) is a webcam I have mounted over the work surface for taking photo's or video of projects I am working on.
Electronics worksurface
This is a closeup of the electronics work surface. The pad on the left is a cutting mat and the one on the right is an anti-static mat.
Electronics 2
This picture is the right half of the electronics workbench with more component bins and tools.
Non-electronics Workbench
Here I have other tools for working on things that are not electronics. I have a full sized drill press on the right and a small dremel press on the left. Yes that is one of my robot projects that I started and need to do the software coding for.
