Since birds are one of my favourite photo subjects... a bird for this week's competition it is! And a huge bird; in fact, it's the heaviest european bird!
Great bustards are amazing animals, with the males (as the one in the photo) with beautiful plumages, that are even more amazing in the breeding season, when they perform an array of displays to try and win the female's attention. And they are one of the heaviest birds that still maintains its flight ability, with weights sometimes over 10kg!
