Did you know that there is snow in Australia? Well now you do :-D
There are several regions in Australia with snow, it was apparently slowing a lot in the Blue Mountains, NSW. But the ski resorts are located in the Snowy Mountains, in the South of Australia. My family usually goes to Thredbo with some friends and share the accomodation but this year due to different agenda, we had to do our own way and a little bit later than usual. We are already in our 8th day into Spring but the forecast is predicting some snow tonight and tomorrow so it should be nice.
We stopped for lunch in Cooma, NSW. It was a little bit difficult for me because next weekend I'm going to a QiGong retreat with my Wu Xing Dao Kung Fu school and we need to change our diet a week before in order to come with a clean body and mind. So no meat, no bread, no dairy, no preservative etc... Not many restaurants around here make suitable food, so I had to just order what ever is close enough.
After lunch, we stopped at a kids playground for San to have fun, we drove for a couple of hours already so he was getting bored. There are a lot of cherry blossom in the area so I took my iPhone out and started to take some photos of the flowers. There were a lot of bees around, obviously enjoying the return of Spring.
It is adding some nice color to the sad look of Nature exiting winter in this area. The air was very cool, smelling icy but the sun was shining strong keeping us warm.
After lunch we made our way to Jindabyne and headed straight direction Thredbo. Today we are not going to the resort yet, we just go passed it and stopped at the Dead Horse Gap where I know should still have some snow even this late. As you can see a lot has already melted.
But there are still a lot of places with some good snow for tobogganing.
After playing for almost an hour, it started snowing with a lot of wind so we decided to go down to the cabin we rented for the trip.
We've taken our bread maker with us because Thien San now prefers homemade bread to the store bought one and I've been making some loaf as we go.
I now have to do my daily one hour Iron Shirt training before bed despite me being super sleepy.... See you guys soon.
