ULOG 068 - BÖHM B76 Active Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones

IMG_6028.PNG

I was about to go to bed when I realised I didn't post by daily #ulog post! Couple of months ago, I think, I bought these BÖHM B76 active noise cancelling headphones on eBay from Texas US. I liked the design and the reviews were not bad. The price was attractive too at 113 USD including shipping to Australia.

Upon reception, I tested them and found that they did cancel background noises but I could still hear people talking around me. I found out that it was how NC headphones work. A colleague had those modern Bose NC headphones and we compared them. The Bose NC headphones did attenuate voices better but for background noises I couldn't tell much difference between the two products. So I was generally happy with my headphones. When I have them on, I feel relieved, like if the ambient noise was creating some kind of tension I wasn't aware of. The headphones even attenuate my own humming. I liked to wear them in the train when commuting to and from work.

One strange thing with these speakers is that the music quality seems to be better when I activate the noise cancelling feature, so I always activate it even when I'm in a quiet room.

After a month or so of use, suddenly the headphones didn't want to connect to the bluetooth anymore! Arg! I got in contact with the seller and got an RMA number. I had to return the product at my own shipping cost (A$41, ouch).

After several weeks, I finally received the replacement product today. I'm now listening to "White Sandy Beach" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and writing this ULOG.

Today, for lunch, I went with my friend to Chatswood again. We've decided to try some vegetarian food at the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple which has a restaurant at the street level. It was a nice surprise as the food was actually good. The restaurant is also a shop that sell Buddhism related items. One more lunch destination to choose from :-)
