Hello Gardeners! It is time for another gardening update and the announcement of me entering the #hwc2024 or HIVE world championship 2024. I will be getting into growing a pumpkin pn out balcony. This is the challenge every participant has to face

I have not taken any steps yet but the last post by @beeber encouraged me to look into my options on how to grow the biggest most beautiful and badass pumpkin that has ever been grown on a balkony.

For now I just have some nice little updates for you regarding my peppers. They grew nicely and by the end of next week the first one will make it into our salad.
The tomatoes are growing just fine although I had to gut down some of the vegetables since they turned black at the bottom. I don’t exactly get why they did so but it did not look healthy and I forgot to take a picture.
The potatoes are all flowering except the one small plant that just needs to do a little more catching up. There has been a lot of rain lately and I made sure that the potatoes get drained a bit so there is not too much water underneath them. I do not want them to turn foul which can easily happen on a rainy summer.
The carrots just look like a bird eyes view
of a jungle. You would expect to see wild parrots flying over the branches.
The salad is growing so fast and ao plentyful we barely can keep up eating it. Next year I will plant a little less of them. Can not wait for the next big bowl of salad with own peppers and maybe even the first tomatoes?
For now the radish the peppers and the tomatoes in this bowl are still from the shop downstairs. I made sure to buy the local products though. I like short transport routes. A little olive ouil and baldamico mixed with a hint of salt and pepper. A pinch of sugar needs to be in the dressing too. Yummie!
