This dish is one of the most typical cooking in my country Venezuela. It's called Pabellón criollo is composed of white rice, black caraotas, shredded meat and fried plantain slices. It is a dish that goes from generation to generation in many regions is varied but always retains its essence of its traditional dish.

It is a dish that cheers the eye for the dispersion of colors because it is very striking, the white of rice, the black of caraotas, red meat and golden yellow bananas, a festival of colors.
Here are the separate ingredients of this popular dish
Meat
- 1 kg beef brisket meat
- 1 large onions
- 1 red pepper
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
Black beans
- 500 gr dried black beans
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large onion
- 6 cloves of garlic
- Salt to taste
- 1 green or red paprika
- Sugar
- Pepper
Rice
- 2 cups of rice
- 4 cups water
- Salt
Slices
- 1 ripe banana
- Oil
Preparation
This Creole pavilion is made up of 4 separate preparations.
First of all the meat processing
Put the meat in a pot with enough water and add a pinch of salt and boil over medium heat for 2 hours until the meat softens.
When the meat is soft let it cool and then fray.

In a frying pan fry the onion, paprika, garlic, chives and then place the shredded meat and add the 2 tablespoons of tomato paste.
Add salt and pepper, cook for 30 minutes, until juicy.

Black beans
Soak the black beans for 24 hours and add a little baking soda.
Remove this water, wash and place in a saucepan the black beans let it boil until it softens.

In a frying pan sauté an onion, a paprika, 3 cloves of garlic and add.
Let cook over high heat, if necessary add more water, preferably hot water and when they are soft lower the heat.
Add salt and sugar to taste.

Rice
In a saucepan add 4 cups of water and 2 cups of rice.
Add salt to taste, raise heat to boil to cover. Leave covered for the steam to finish cooking.

The slices
- Peel and slice the bananas.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the slices in the hot oil to fry, and turn when each side has browned.
- When browned, remove from oil and drain on a plate with absorbent paper.

Ready the 4 preparations to join in a plate.
Now taste this delicious and nutritious typical dish.
