I enjoyed the very best Potato Chips ever - crispy on the outside and fluffy and floury on the inside - made by students at the Thousand Hills Chef School, just over a half hour drive from our home. They would not let me in on their secret though!
Served with crispy Chicken strips, this made for a great light lunch! This was just before we disappeared for a trip down the coast.
Wood fired Pizza and Home brewed beer was on the menu as well - crispy thin based pizza with a smoked Chicken topping, really yummy!
I celebrated my second Steemit birthday quietly while going missing in action somewhere down the coast, spending time on the beach and hiding away from the world.
@qurator was one of the first communities that I joined here and what an honour to see my name pop up as a Shining Qurite a while back, I really appreciate the support offered by everyone here!
So I think it's apt that I shared thoughts on my second Steemit birthday here on @qurator's Tasty Tuesday #84 as my entry into this weekly contest!
What does Steemit mean to me?
I was introduced to the platform by my son @deanoza (who stopped blogging a long while back), but Dean knew just how much was going on in his mother's head, and writing would help ease another problem and that's her eternal verbal diarrhea ;)
The latter problem was diagnosed by an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist, I kid you not!
Why am I still here?
Would you want to leave a place where you get to meet amazing people with similar interests from all over the world and some closer to home, hey @teamsouthafrica!
I can write about the things that are close to my heart and earn crypto-currency at the same time, although the latter has been a bit of a up and down story!
But money's not all there is to life not so!
I've learnt so much here, even about myself and never would have dreamed that I would be sharing my love of cooking and baking with the world!
I made at least a hundred Steemit sandwiches for @jaybird's contest over the past two years, cooked and baked for various contests like Cook With Us run by @cookwithus which now is on Whaleshares, @steemkitchen and @progressivechef's Steemit Iron Chef and lately Fruits & Veggies Monday started by @lenasveganliving, and now hosted by @plantstoplanks under the banner of @vegansofsteemit. I've met some really wonderful foodies from all over in these communities.

I am also blessed to be part of the @thesteemengine, started by @ethandsmith and now being overseen by the wonderfully wise @enchantedspirit, supported by her husband @catweasel, the trusted doctor! I have some fabulous friends over there who I bump into at The Whistle Stop every so often!
I came to know about this community purely by accident through my good friend @sultnpapper, who I also met by accident with the gent confusing my name with @simplylizelle, something I picked up by a comment of @buttcoins, thanks to @ginabot!
I also met the wonderfully kind and supportive author @ericvancewalton through my friend @sultnpapper! I will forever be thankful for his book on meditation which was a gift sent by Eric in the mail, truly priceless!
It's quite strange how we are all inter-connected here on the blockchain, just like we often find in life!
So guys and dolls, do not be disheartened with the current price of Steem, keep on steeming, enjoy the company you're in; you certainly will be richer at the end of the day in a much more meaningful way!
