Welcome to a fairly new challenge called #sam-saturday or Something about Me, hosted by my good friend @bluemoon. You can read about it here! Take a few minutes and give it a go. You won't be sorry. You wouldn't believe the little tidbits of fun that people have dropped, it is like having coffee with your friends or even new friends. To me, this is one of the ways to bridge that gap between our cultures, our differences and embrace the sameness in our souls. Friendship. Thank you for taking the time and them minutes to read.

What about me? @dswigle is actually named Denise, and I was born and raised in Southern Connecticut on the seashore. Oh, yes! The sea is always calling me! I can hear it! I was one of nine children and my dad was raised Menonite and my mother Roman Catholic, so I am not sure how they ever met up and married.

I love the ocean! I love being windblown! I love the salt air! Breathe deeply!

Feed me, baby. I love food. If it swims for a living, chances are, I will eat it. Did I mention I love food?

When I was young, I joined Greenpeace, long ago and far away and loved their mission or what they stood for, until they no longer did. I was sorry about that because I loved what they stood for and could understand what they wanted out out of the world, just went about it in a wrong way. But, that is only my opinion.

I loved my childhood and couldn't imagine every leaving my beloved Nutmeg State. Sometimes life throws you a curveball and it works out fine. I love where I live in the Washington, DC Metro area. Lots of farms, lots of city and lots of fun and beauty. Central to everything.

I love growing flowers, collecting their seeds and spreading them along the country roads. I love photographing them. I 'm not sure how that started, but, I'm addicted. I carry a shovel and bucket in the back of my car in case I see someone getting rid of something pretty. To give it a new life or home or whatever.

I love people. I love people and I love people. I don't thing I have ever met a person I didn't like. I like kindness and I believe that you cannot possibly be unkind to someone who is always kind to you. It would be impossible. Kindess counts. Always.

I love my country, I do. You should love where you live, otherwise, what is the point?

Let the sun shine in on your life
