My father is a Japanese but I grew up in the Philippines, and I came to Japan last 2011. When I first hear the story of the suicide forest I did not believe that it was existing but doing some research and talking to other Japanese people I found out that it is true and not just a fairytale. Most of the Japanese that want to finish his/her own life is going in the popular suicide forest.

Please watch this video.

The report says they discovered an estimated 100 corpses annually. And if ever you want to visit that place you will notice many ropes had left still hanging there, telling us more stories, and some death notes are written in the tree. If you begin to enter the forest you will notice this sign written to stop suicidal people.

It's written (Translated from Japanese).
"Your life is a precious gift from your parents. Please think about your parents, siblings, and children. Don't keep it yourself. Talk about your troubles. Please contact Suicide Prevention Association 0555-22-0110."

But the one question got to me was "Why in the world someone who is hopeless and wants to finish his/her own life have to put effort to go to a place like Aokigahara forest just to commit suicide??".

As I continue researching and talking to other Japanese I have found some answers. The Japanese people is one of the nicest people in the world. That is why if they want to commit suicide most of them go to this place to do so.
It's free of cost to them to commit suicide in Aokigahara.

The reason because if they have done the suicide inside their houses or apartment chances are the landlord of that house will be having a trouble in the future because no one wants to rent an apartment that has a scary story in it.

And if someone commits a suicide in running train, his/her family will suffer the consequences because the family will be one the paying for all the trouble he/she had done, because the train didn't function for a couple of minutes because of the tragedy and that will be a very large amount of money.
