Oceanography - The Science of The Sea

Oceanography
Water, water everywhere... That's how our planet looks to the astronauts as they circle it in outer space. And there is good reason for this: almost three-fourths of the earth's is covered by water it is hard to believed that all our cities, farmlands, meadows, forest, deserts, and mountains take up only one quarter of our planet's area, but iy is true that for this reason. Earth is often referred to scientist as the water planet.

Oceanography is the name given to the study of the ocean. - Oceanographers often called detective of the sea, use the sciences of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics in their quests to solve the mysteries. Such as where did the ocean came from.

The sea is a huge store of raw materials which has barely been tapped. Acre to acre, its animals and plant production could equal that of land, yet man at sea remains essentially a hunter than a farmer. All the known chemical and mineral elements exist in sea water, some in great amount yet only salt, magnesium, iodine, bromine, and a few other substances are extracted commercially.

The geophysical Oceanography and Marine biology

The geophysical oceanographer study such thing as circulations, tides, waves, and physical properties of ocean basins of sea water. The marine biologist on the other hand studies the animals, vegetable organisms that live in the sea.
