If you are watching my blog through the beginning you might have read a rant I was going about medical and pharmaceutical goods. The prices are just outrageous sometimes. But it's not for no reason, research and development in that field is not something that goes for cheap, its easy to figure that out since scientific personnel always have of the highest payments in every economy. Even when it comes down to publishing scientific research though which they do in a non-profit way they have to use 3rd party publication institutes that are charging for their hosting services quite a lot, all that unjustified high prices will eventually add up to expensive products.
Current Model.
Alternative approach.
At my understanding its a way to take advantage of the blockchain technology and utilize it as an open scientific journal tool
The call for open access is not new. The declaration of the Budapest Open Access Initiative for instance dates back to 2002 [Chan et al. 2002]. The initiative points out that “open access [...] gives readers extraordinary power to find and make use of relevant literature, and [...] gives authors and their works vast and measurable new visibility, readership, and impact”. To stay relevant, scholars will have to make even greater efforts to make their material easily accessible [Odlyzko 2002].
as reads at PEvO science whitepaper.
Below are some open access statements made on the past starting 2002 till today, if you feel the need to research more about it. Copied from wikipedia.
Open access statements
- Budapest Open Access Initiative
- Berlin Declaration
- Bethesda Statement
- Durham Statement
- NIH Public Access Policy
- Research Works Act
So we can see there is an actual need for such a tool.
The team managed to pull out a very professional presentation. (photography by me during the show)
My knowledge on that subject does not allow me to dig more through it. I had a chat with @pharesim and his team and I know he will present it properly in a later time on his blog. So I will keep my questions till then. I suggest to keep an eye on this project and if you are a developer that can contribute ideas that can be of help do so here.

I really liked @pharesim 's and @spectral 's presentation, both of them seems really promising, each one on each own field. I will present you spectral's project at my block in a later post.
thanks for reading.
