The Planetary Defence Platform is a small craft that can me manned by a pilot or used fully automatic. While small in size it is equiped with impressive firepower and when used in numbers they form an impressive defence ring around a planet or outpost. While they have only minimum shielding their size makes them a difficult target to hit and they are a vital part of any defence from an attack from space.
