In this post I'm bringing you the results of the 18th week of the #self-portrait #photo #contest!
There were even 4 entries this week but 1 of them I couldn't accept & about one I was really doubting but in the end I accepted it after all! & I am always thankful for all the participants who support my contest by sending me their entries!
🥉 3rd place goes this time to @vasigo for his 1st time participating in the contest with a #self-portrait referring to the one of the most know alternative underground Balkan bends from Ljubljana, Slovenia (ex Yugoslavia) - Laibach - who in its art music criticizes the very different politic systems along with the society. They are influencing the scene & the society for more than 20 years now & they are one of the rare bends who visited North Korea & played there for some of Korean most important holidays & there is also a documentary about their visit to North Korea. When I was younger I didn't really understood their music but now I really like it. Actually, I'm really glad for the @vasigo's promotion of Laibach! Dear @vasigo, if you plan to participate in the next round, please work on the higher quality of your entry & try to keep up with concept! Here's the entry:

To me, this is the best Laibach song I've ever heard from their recent works:
& they have this version of Opus's "Life Is Life" disco hit which really lifts me up, from their older works:

🥈 the 2nd place goes to @axeman & the black'n'white mirror image of himself in the cat's eye. Very interesting perspective but the portrait is not easily visible. Still a fine shot:

🥇 & 1st place goes to @lightcaptured for the 1st time, I believe. It's another mirror image & technically the best entry in this round.

There was an entry from @deadgrlsuppastar & I wrote her a very straight-to-the-point critics:
"...I believe you can make a lot more interesting & more creative shots of yourself with a focus on your legs & in the same time that your face is seen! Dear @deadgrlsuppastar, for God's sake, you are an artist after all, ain't you?!
So, show the world some true art & not this every-day summer beach generic "sausage" bullshit, please!

Sorry darling, but I need to be a very strict about this contest cause I've been getting a lot of trashy entries which I just couldn't accept & one of the most important goals of this contest is to rise the quality up & not to lower it down! Sorry if I was too insolent. I hope I didn't hurt your feeling & that we'll be seeing some of yours higher & more original #self-portraits in the future! I'm looking forward to that!
