We parked on a small parking. Nothing to see for miles. At no point during the ride in the car did we suspect a castle would appear alongside the road. But a castle was marked on my map, so we started searching for it. We followed a long path, walking, grass on both sides. I heard the wind, waves of the sea...
We walked further. I saw some dark stones showing up above the grass. I walk on and on and on. More and more stones become visible. The sea sounds even louder now. Seagulls too.
At some point during the walk my breath stops. I’ve rarely seen something SO exciting! The brown stones appear to be a ruin, the castle on my map, but I’ve never seen ruins on a scale like this and... on a location like this!
Right above a cliff, seagulls and pigeons flying from castle tower to castle window. Silently I take it all in. This must have been an amazing place to live and govern. Sea everywhere. And from the road your castle could never be seen... Alone. At the end of the world.
