Pineapple Basil Smoothie (I know what you're thinking but you HAVE to try this.)

When most people think of the words pineapple and basil, they don't necessarily see them together. I was at a local gelato shop and saw the combination being used in some sorbet. This is the point where a lot of people would cringe and say, "that's weird". This is the point where I said, "Oh shit I need to put that in my mouth, like now". Thank God I did because the pairing is heavenly. This may not be the most aesthetically pleasing smoothie but it is definitely one of my favorites.

Ingredients:

1/2 of a pineapple peeled, cored, and diced.

1/4 cup of basil.

1 cup of plain Greek yogurt.

6 ice cubes.

1/2 cup of almond milk (I used a "sweetened" coconut variety).

2 tablespoons of agave nectar (if you don't have this feel free to sub in honey, a couple dates, or some white sugar.)

Directions:

  1. Pack basil tightly into the bottom of your blender.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.

You should end up with two large servings. Share one with a friend.
