The guardian of the forest / La guardiana del Bosque

Greetings to all the community of Steemit, after being absent for a couple of weeks, today I want to bring you a very special job, to resume the sequence of the Posts on the platform and be more active. The drawing to choose, is inspired by a masterpiece of Japanese Animated Cinema, called "Princess Mononoke", this project took a lot of time of dedication and studies to achieve the final result. In this one, I wanted to give it a more realistic effect, using a more personal style, but without losing the main essence of the drawing.

Saludos a toda la comunidad de Steemit, después de estar ausente por un par de semanas, hoy quiero traerles un trabajo muy especial, para retomar la secuencia de los Posts en la plataforma y estar más activo. El dibujo a elegir, está inspirado en una obra maestra del Cine Animado Japonés, llamado “La Princesa Mononoke”, este proyecto llevó mucho tiempo de dedicación y estudios para lograr el resultado final. En esta, quise darle un efecto más realista, usando un estilo más personal, pero sin perder la esencia principal del dibujo.

Princess Mononoke is a creation of the famed Ghibli studio, set in Muromachi-era Japan. It develops the struggle between supernatural guardians of the forest and humans who desecrate its natural resources. San is a girl who was abandoned by her parents from a very young age in the forest, which had to be adopted and raised by wolves. As her hatred and contempt for people grew, she increased and sought revenge against them by observing how they are slowly making their beloved home die.

La Princesa Mononoke es una creación del afamado estudio Ghibli, ambientada en el Japón de la era Muromachi. En ella se desarrolla la lucha que existe entre los guardianes sobrenaturales del bosque y los humanos que profanan sus recursos naturales. San es una chica que fue abandonada por sus padres desde muy joven en el bosque, la cual tuvo que ser adoptada y criada por lobos. Al crecer su odio y desprecio hacia las personas aumentó y busca venganza contra estos al observar cómo poco a poco están haciendo que su amado hogar muera.

Drawing development / Desarrollo del dibujo ✎

After having made the previous Post, which allowed to know basic concepts, use of some tools and the familiarization of the strokes through the handling of the Tablet. It has allowed that for this second presentation it has been decided to elaborate a more daring and demanding design as for the use of new techniques, textures, contrasts, better dominion of layers, opportune and assertive use of brushes, as well as the application of learned knowledge, looking for to determine the limit of complexity of the same one and up to where the learned could arrive. It is worth mentioning that due to the complexity of the drawing in terms of design, elaboration and presentation, it has required a time of 21 hours, distributed in 6 days for its culmination.

Luego de haber realizado el Post anterior, el cual permitió conocer conceptos básicos, uso de algunas herramientas y la familiarización de los trazos a través del manejo de la Tablet. Ha permitido que para esta segunda presentación se haya decidido elaborar un diseño más osado y exigente en cuanto al empleo de nuevas técnicas, texturas, contrastes, mejor dominio de capas, uso oportuno y asertivo de pinceles, así como la aplicación de conocimientos aprendidos, buscando determinar el límite de complejidad del mismo y hasta donde lo aprendido podría llegar.
Cabe mencionar, que debido a la complejidad del dibujo en cuanto al diseño, elaboración y presentación, éste ha requerido un tiempo comprendido de 21 horas, distribuidas en 6 días para su culminación.

The sketch is made and the outline of the drawing is defined with all the details that compose it.

We apply the base color throughout the drawing and determine the areas of shadows and lights.

Aplicamos el color base en todo el dibujo y se determinan las zonas de sombras y luces.

We define some features such as the eyes, we apply volume and shine to the hair and coat.

Definimos algunos rasgos como son los ojos, aplicamos volumen y brillo al cabello y la capa.

We accentuate shadows and lights, add blood effects, apply the background and define the position of the wolf.

Acentuamos sombras y luces, agregamos efectos de sangre, aplicamos el fondo y definimos la posición del lobo.

With the help of the airbrush we applied the color black and white as a base and detailed the eyes, nose and mouth of the wolf.

Con la ayuda del pincel aerógrafo aplicamos el color negro y blanco como base y se detallaron los ojos, nariz y boca del lobo.

We end with the fur of the wolf making many short strokes interspersed with black and white depending on the area where you work.

Culminamos con el pelaje del lobo realizando muchos trazos cortos intercalando el blanco y negro según la zona donde se trabaje.
