GGG Vs. Canelo: The Super-Fight We All Wanted Is Here ... And So Are The Facts!

A real super-fight

Yup! This is the biggest fight of the year. Period. The fans of boxing are licking their lips at this September 16 showdown between Gennady Golovkin and the red haired Mexican Canelo Alvarez.

Besides trying to decipher this super-fight winner, the other things I'm currently thinking over are:

This super-fight will NOT be fought at catch weight!

I was happy to hear this as that means that we won't have two weight drained contenders, and also the fact that it will decide the middleweight crown once and for all. 160lbs here we come!

At this weight GGG will have the distinct advantage being the bigger framed man, and my money will be on him in this fight. It's interesting to note that Golovkin will not have a rematch clause but Canelo will. This doesn't seem fair to me, and it makes Canelo look like chicken-shit!

The venue for the super-fight is TBC

Everywhere from Dubai to Texas to London has been feted for this fight, but the natural fit seems to be Las Vegas. Nothing beats the Strip on fight night. Nothing!

Whoever wins this fight will most certainly be crowned the #1 pound for pound champion in boxing, but I still fancy Andre Ward over both of these contenders. For me he is currently the classiest and most intelligent boxer around today.

As the next few months pass by, I wonder how many more talking points there will be? Who knows, but for now my money is firmly on GGG regardless of his odds. I feel his power being the bigger man can be used to tire out Canelo in the later rounds of this fight, so my $100 will be placed firmly on GGG in this fight. Best get some liquid Steem cashed out then!
