Our ten remaining teams are battling for survival.
In our last round, three of our teams perished in a cave when it collapsed. The rest awoke safe, but in some water that was full of animal carcasses. Since all team members on the remaining teams have snake bites, leach wounds, or cuts from thorns, bacteria from the contaminated water entered their open wounds. Now, their wound have begun to swell and hurt.
DAY 3 ROUND 1 RESULTS
Our teams also found a deer carcass. Not knowing when or how it was killed, they were unsure what to do with it. However, since they need to eat at least once every two days (gameplay) to survive, this carcass provided some potential food options. Four choices were given, and here is what the remaining teams chose to do.
Option 1 - Don't risk messing with this deer carcass and continue towards the clearing ahead.
These teams chose to press on without eating. Passing up potential food can be a deadly mistake, as only one option for food may present itself each day and teams need to eat at least once every two days. At least nothing bad happened to these teams. We will hope for the best.

Option 2 - One way or another, eat the meat and hope for the best.
As it turns out, someone had shot this deer the previous night but was unable to locate it. The bullet did not rupture any of the bowels, so no bile or another unpleasant liquids leaked out into the meat. The deer was cold, but that was only due to the body heat leaving it overnight. These teams got a good meal out of the deal and now have full bellies. The press on, but are unable to preserve any extra meat or prevent the rest from spoiling.

Option 3 - Use the carcass as bait on the land to try to lure some other animal near enough to kill and eat.
Not being sure if the dead deer meat was healthy enough for human consumption, one team chose to try to leave it on the land to see if it could be used as bait to attract a live animal. If another animal came and the team was able to kill it, then they would have fresh meat for sure.
Soon Vultures began to circle overhead and then a few crows landed nearby. After some hours of circle Vultures and Crows in the trees nearby, the team realized that nothing else was coming. As a last ditch effort to try to get some food out of this situation, the team members tried throwing rocks at the crows to kill one of them, but, unfortunately none of the rocks hit their target. Tired and hungry, this team presses on towards the clearing up ahead.
@lukmarcus & @kambrysia
- All members of Team SZUMNI have wounds that are sore and swollen.
- Team SZUMNI will need to eat before the end of Day 3 (gameplay).
Option 4 - Use the carcass as bait in the water to try to lure some other animal near enough to kill and eat.
Since no teams chose this option, I will not reveal what would have happened. Perhaps a similar situation will come up later or maybe even next season.
JACKPOT OR DEATH TRAP?
DAY 3 ROUND 2
As the teams continue to make their way towards the clearing up ahead, they see an RV in front of them. Amazingly, they see a small pile of canned goods under the camper. However, that is not all that they see.
A sign is propped up next to the cans. It is not spelled correctly, but the message is clear: “Yer not lost. Yer trespasing. Don’t steal my food or I’ll shoot you ded. – Tom”
No one knows for sure how long these canned goods have been sitting there, or when the sign was written, or who “Tom” is. Is he serious? Is he even alive?
On the bright side, canned goods are a type of non-perishable food. This means that any teams who acquire some can hold onto them for a reserve food supply. There appear to be six cans total, so if each team member only ate one can every other day, this supply would provide the necessary food for a team for six days, without them eating anything else. If they found other perishable foods along the way, they could hold on to these cans even longer.
On the other side, six cans can be a lot to try to grab quickly when someone might be shooting at you. Perhaps just grabbing two cans would be quicker. Would it be quick enough though? Perhaps it is best just to pass. Whatever the choice, it had better be made quickly.
OPTIONS
Option 1 - Don't risk messing with these cans and quickly move on.
Option 2 – Have one team member quickly try to grab two cans for your team.
Option 3 – Have one team member risk even more time to try to grab all six cans.
Option 4 – Have both team members quickly try to grab all six cans.
