13 teams are battling it out right now in a survival contest to the death.
DAY 2 ROUND 1 RESULTS
Yesterday our 13 teams made it across the pond and had a chance to forage for some edible plants. Fortunately, three of the four plants they found were edible, and only one was deadly. Since no one was forced to forage, each team was given five options, and they have made their choices.
OPTION 1 – LAMB'S QUARTERS.
I did not tell the teams what this photo was of yesterday. Thankfully, it was Lamb's Quarters, which is very nutritious and has incredibly high amounts of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. However, no teams chose to eat it.
OPTION 2 – POISON HEMLOCK
Just touching this plant can make you sick, and for this contest, it is absolutely fatal to eat. Thankfully, no teams decided to die by eating it! (That was a close one - maybe next time!)
OPTION 3 – YELLOW DOCK
Yellow or Curly Dock is a great wild edible. Not only is is healthy and packed full of goodness, it too is high in Vitamins like A & C, and it's a good source of other nutrients too! Here are the six teams who enjoyed it last round.

OPTION 4 – WOOD SORREL
Yes, the tangy sour flavor of Wood Sorrel was just enjoyed by some of our teams. With the amount of Vitamin C in this wild edible, no one will have to worry about scurvy. Here are the four teams that chose to give it a go and fill up their hungry bellies!

OPTION 5 – Walk on by and hopefully find food elsewhere
After enjoying a delicious snake yesterday, three teams chose to just walk on by without foraging. They will need to eat before the end of gameplay day 3, but for now, they are fine.

SEEKING SHELTER
DAY 2 ROUND 2
After making the choice of whether or not to forage, and what to forage on for those who did, something strange begins to happen. Loud explosions are echoing in the distance. Heavy, pounding explosions that are shaking the earth rather violently. Suddenly, it begins to rain too.
The loud noises are not thunder, though your team does begin to wonder as the lightning flashes across the sky. Has someone located a cache of military artillery? Is someone making homemade bombs? Whatever the source of the loud, vibrating noise is, you’ve got no time to figure it out now. The rain has become torrential, and you’ve got to find somewhere safe to seek shelter.
As you look around, you really only see two options, crawling into a nearby cave or hiding under a large tree. Then, your trusty teammate offers that making your own shelter may be safer. Here are your three options.
Seek shelter in a cave which leads deep underground. The walls and roof are rock, and there appears to be only one opening.
Curl up under a large tree. The tree is very tall and has thick foliage, so very little rain makes it to the bottom underneath the tree.
Use deadfall and nearby branches to create a makeshift shelter. This option will require more effort and time, but your team should be able to handle it.
