Another round of survival, and some more who did not survive...
In our last round, the teams came upon a man who called himself “Tom” in the back of an abandoned store. He claimed to be suffering from high blood pressure and offers a deal. If the teams can help him with his issue, perhaps he has some food and antibiotics that he can trade.
The teams are not sure if this is the same Tom who just shot some of the other team members, or if he can be trusted. However, they needed to make a decision. Here are the four options and the teams who chose them
DAY 4 ROUND 1 RESULTS
Option 1 – Decline the offer and attempt to leave.
No one chose this option, so I won’t reveal what would have happened.
Option 2 – Try to trick Tom into a simultaneous trade with the pill bottle of pebbles.
No one chose this option, so I won’t reveal what would have happened.
Option 3 – Offer to show Tom a plant that could help with his condition and take him to the patch of Basil outside.
Multiple teams chose this option. Though it wasn’t what was Tom was expecting, it made sense to him. “Well thanks for showing me the solution to my problem which was right under my nose this whole time. I’m sorry that I was a little deceitful and lied about my name and the antibiotics. I do have some food, and I’ll give your team two cans for helping me, but I can’t help with those infections, good luck!”
“Also, my name ain’t really Tom, but there is a known marksman out in the woods by that name, so people seem to treat me better when I use that name. I’ll keep an eye on this Basil, but the time has come for you to clear out!” The man finishes and points out of town with his large knife.
These teams take off, but they now have a back-up, nonperishable food supply. For one person teams, the supply is four days worth, and for two person teams it is two days worth. As an example, if a team needs to eat before the end of Day 4 (gameplay), they will have a chance to eat in Round 2. If they choose a correct answer and eat a perishable food, then they will keep their reserve supply. If they pass on Round 2 or choose an incorrect answer, then they will tap into their backup supply. The backup food supply will be automatic.
Here are the teams that chose this option.

- All Members of this team (@nepd) have wounds that are sore and swollen.

Option 4 – Try to attack Tom and take his bag.
Trying to attack an armed man is often not a good idea, and in this case, it proved to be fatal.
Unfortunately, some team members made this deadly decision. More “participant” ribbons will be given and more STEEM for the loved ones of the deceased. 10 STEEM will be sent to their accounts.
@eirik
- @eirik has been stabbed to death while trying to attack “Tom.”
@snooway
- @snooway has been stabbed to death while trying to attack “Tom.”
Honestly, I was sad to see you two go. It has been a pleasure on my end @snooway and @eirik and I seriously hoped that you both had a good time. I tried to keep it fun and interesting, and it was great to see you two interacting and making your choices. If you are interested, I'll let you know when the next season starts. Thanks for helping to make this one a success!
HOW ABOUT THOSE INFECTIONS?
DAY 4 ROUND 2
The six remaining teams quickly take off into the woods. At least the clearing had not been a complete bust. Thankfully to have a nonperishable backup food supply, the teams begin to look for something else to eat. That backup food supply can be precious, and it would be a tragedy to tap into it right away.
Also, these infections are getting worse. Some sort of bacteria has set up shop in the open wounds of our team members and things are not getting any better. Aren’t there any wild options for anti-bacterial plants that could be dual purpose? Perhaps the teams could get a snack and treat their ailment at the same time…
In a clearing ahead, there appears to be a bee hive. Could this hive still contain honey? Nearby, a few other plants are growing. One is an interesting looking plant with triangular purple flowers. Another looks very familiar, as if the teams have seen it earlier. Near the edge of the woods, something that looks like Wild Garlic is growing. All of these options seem viable, but should the teams even slow down right now with the Tom the marksman out in the woods on the other side of town and “Tom” with the big knife right behind? One way or another the infections will have to be dealt with…
OPTIONS
Option 1 – Check the beehive and eat any honey that is found inside.
Option 2 – Eat the plant with the triangular purple flowers.
Option 3 – Eat the familiar looking plant.
Option 4 – Eat the plant that looks like Wild Garlic.
Option 5 – Skip a potential meal and deal with the infection later, just get moving instead.
