I'm honoring Steem Superheroes again today. These are the people who power up their Steem accounts in a big way. I've made two posts like this before: (1, 2), manually digging up Power Up transactions using steemd.com. Today, thanks to @sitaru's help in automatically getting Power Up data, I'm going to highlight some more Superheroes! Thank you also to @klye for creating the art I commissioned for this post. Both will be receiving a portion of the liquid rewards.
Steem Power and Powering Up
For those who don't know, having Steem Power is having your own stake in the Steem network. Powering Up means that a person trusts that Steem will be a valuable platform for years to come. It puts the stake in the Steem network and Steemit website in the hands of those who believe in it and are willing to commit to it over the long term. Steem Power is earned from post or comment rewards, curation rewards, generating blocks by witnesses, and perhaps in the future, Steem Dollar liquidity provider rewards again. But you can also Power Up your Steem account instantly with STEEM tokens.
Powering Up a Steem account gives you more powerful votes so you can reward others more for their great posts and comments. With more Steem Power you also get paid more in curation rewards, because your votes carry a higher stake. This way there's a real money incentive to Power Up as well! Also the more Steem Power your account has, the more weight it has in voting for Steem witnesses, the people that run the servers that form the decentralized blockchain network behind Steemit.

This is an account shared by a group from China and they're on the forefront of a quickly growing Chinese Steemit community. In just the last week they powered up about 6,200 STEEM! They posted this excellent and successful article just a few days ago: The Chinese are coming! They introduce themselves as a group of cryptocurrency experts, people who mine, trade, and do much more. They set up a forum that looks to be a helping gateway for Chinese users who want to get on Steemit: steemchina.com And last but not least, they even fully translated the Steem whitepaper into Chinese! By their posts and comments, cyber seems to be a cryptocurrency enthusiast and trader. They certainly see the value in Steem. Since making my last Superheroes post, cyber has powered up over 17,000 STEEM! Making a longer term commitment like that is no light decision for a trader.

I think this person is Japanese, and has posted a good variety of very interesting original blogs. I recommend you check his blog page out (once you're done with this post of course ;). They enjoy sharing their experiences and also new things they have learned about Steem. Just in the last few days, they have powered up about 6,800 STEEM! This awesome user made it to the last list, but holy crap I have to feature them again! They had powered up to an amazing 21,000 SP, but just in the last week have powered up a further 18,000 STEEM, for a total of almost 40,000 STEEM Powered Up!!! Wow. Not only a contributor to Steem code, top 19 witness, multi-linguist communicator and bridge for the Chinese community, AND a savvy liquidity provider, abit also recognizes the value in fighting spam, scams, and other abuse on Steemit. For this purpose he has powered up his account @adm, which is used by members of the abuse-countering community to downvote scams, spam, and other abuse, and reward people for bringing these things to the light. Abit powered up adm by 37,500 STEEM just two days ago! Awesome abit!

Last but certainly not least, is Laonie! I consider Laonie to be a Super Superhero, a Hero of Heroes. They are Chinese and are a big part of why you might see more Chinese posts on Steemit. We're lucky to have someone who is dedicated to fostering a community of Chinese language users. As far as I can tell from their posts, they are taking the time to help fellow Chinese people use Steemit and grow their community. Oh and by the way...
Laonie has invested and Powered Up, as of today, 66,870 STEEM in 29 transactions since making their account just one week ago!!! And they continue to power up more!
