Hello Steemit,

have you ever asked yourself how much money the STEEM Top Investors have invested to buy Steem and SBD over the last months? Most of us know the statistics provided by steemwhales.com and other sides, where you can see how much STEEM a user has earned by posting and curation, but not how many Dollar or Bitcoin a steemian has invested or withdrawn.

Some months ago I’ve founded the Steem-Investors chat group in steemit.chat and since than I thought about how to determine who is a STEEM Investor and who is not. Over the last weeks I played a little bit with the Steem Blockchain Data and got the idea how to calculate an all-time Investor ranking.

What I did

I downloaded all blockchain data
I filtered all transfers, powerup’s and powerdown-events which moved STEEM, STEEM POWER or STEEM DOLLAR from an exchange to a steemians account or vice verca
I downloaded all EOD-Pricedata for STEEM-BTC, SBD-BTC and BTC-USDT market from Poloniex and Bittrex exchange
For every Steem-Blockchain transfer I calculated the value of this transfer in USD. As I’ve used EOD-Data, I interpolated the STEEM or SBD price according to the EOD-prices before and after the transfer.
For each user I added all transfers and sorted the users for the ranking

In my calculations I defined the following accounts as „Exchanges“:

bittrex
blocktrades
changelly
hitbtc-exchange
openledger
poloniex
shapeshiftio

In case that I’ve missed another exchange, please give me a hint.

Outlook

Starting with today I will update monthly the all-time top 1000 investor table. I will also calculate the Top Investors of the last month and create such a report. All reports will be published under new steemit account @investors

Top Earners

I will not publish the list with the Top Earners here on the Blockchain, but I will provide it in the Steem-Investors-Channel on steemit.chat. This channel is access restricted and open for every Top 1000 all-time Investor. If you want to join the chat, just send me a message on steemit.chat
