The World is in the Church and so is the Church in the World. What does darkness have in relationship with light? Absolutely nothing says the Lord from the Holy Scriptures.
Entertainment is not a sin, placing it above God is the actual sin and sadly, there are thousand and one things we humans cherish more than our maker. Money, pleasures of this World, Fame, Reputation, Sports, Movies etc. A typical example is a news circulating the web about a church in the United State with the aim of supporting the Latest Marvel Movie "Black Panther"; the Choir members and the Pastor dressed in an all themed Black Panther/Wakanda costume for a Sunday Service.
Trinity United Church in Chicago United State is where Rev Dr. Otis Moss III ministered as "Tachala"; dressed fully like the movie's lead male character while his choirs dressed like the female Wakanda fierce warriors. The pastor made a grand entrance with his choristers into the church as the congregation was divided into a "support and against" frenzy. Like every other canal things, news had spread like wildfire and social media took no laxity in condemning and some in support of this gesture from all corners of the World.
As the first All Black cast Super Hero movie, it was worth all the attention; but doing this in the house of God is wrong, which the Bible clearly stated how Jesus Christ reacted to merchants selling in the temple of God.
To some, it is a hilarious act; but to all real Christians, this is just similar to turning the house of God to a place to sell Doves and anointing oils. Jesus Christ's Reaction is enough evidence indicating the House of God is not meant to be disrespected in any ramification. The zeal of the house of God(His Father) consumed him and he turned merchants tables upside down. Now when a minister of God who should know better is indulged in a similar scenario; seems such Pastor or Rev knows not what the Bible really entails.
Whether you are in support or applaud this Church, it is a matter of knowing what the scriptures say and understanding the word of God. Not a matter of being an extremist or a recluse.
A Church is a house of God, a consecrated place of Worship and prayers. No other religion would try this in their places of worship, it is a sadreality why christianity is taking with levity and believers not having the fear of the Most High God in them.
