Anyone Else Have A Dad Cool Enough To Go To Amsterdam With Them?

Selfie before our trip to Uganda together
My Dad has been my rock and role model as long as I can remember. From coaching me in little league, to recent conversations we have had, my Dad has been one of the biggest influencers in my life. My Dad has been a constant provider of support through my many bouts with depression (my mother as well, but I am focusing on my father who will be attending steemfest with me.

I know I have not been a picture perfect son, but my Dad has shown me unconditional love even when I've come to him after making some incredibly foolish mistakes and needing his support both financially and emotionally. I've been a bit of a prodigal son far more than I should have been. But I have been blessed with a patient father who has literally supported me through thick and thin.

Throwback to some blonde hair
So while some of my Dad's motive for coming to steemfest is without a doubt to keep me in check and hold me accountable for my actions, he also wants to learn about steemit and what makes it work. If you knew my Dad you'd realize how funny this is. He prided himself on not having a cell phone until my mom and I basically forced him to get one. (He's rocking a tracFone slider right now). And social media in his life is a biweekly check through facebook.
We come from two different generations, but he sees how much Steemit has meant to me and is willing to go all the way to Amsterdam with me to learn and meet some awesome fellow steemians. I'm excited to meet some of my favorite bloggers face to face, and to be able to experience everything with my Dad is going to be an unforgettable experience.
I made an account for my dad ( @cliff-miller ) but he has mainly just looked at steemit through my own blogging posts. Hope you welcome him in person and he is interested in meeting people and getting a better understanding of steemit and what the future holds for it.
Needless to say, I'm ecstatic that I get to go on this trip (I'll actually be making money when all is said and done!). How cool is it that a platform like steemit cares enough about its users to put a program like this together and keep costs reasonable for those traveling from far away. November 11th, 12th and 13th cannot come soon enough!
Hope to see and get to know many awesome people that are able to attend in person. Wishing safe travels to all who are who are headed to Amsterdam and I know this will be a powerful meeting of some of the most serious minds in steemit. While I can't offer financial advice, I'd be quite surprised if the price of steemit does not rise or skyrocket after this event.
