My name is Graeme Oswald. I am a UX/UI designer. I live in Johannesburg South Africa. To kick off my Steemit account, my first post is coming from Lisbon, Portugal. I have been lucky enough to attend SteemFest2. I'll be posting over the next few days my experience here, mainly photos with a few words. Please enjoy!
Day 1 / South Africa to UK to Portugal
My brother and I left Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday night. Our destination was first London then Lisbon. The flight took 11 hours to the UK and another 2 hours to Portugal.
We arrived early in Lisbon and managed a full day of exploring the amazing city before checking in the HF Fénix Lisboa. The goal was to walk to the shoreline and then back, which ended up taking a good 5 hours. In between we stopped for lunch and had peri-peri chicken and a well deserved beer. After the long day a little more exploring in the evening, and a couple more beers. It was time to call it a night.
Day 2 / SteemFest Hackathon
Weather was not as good as the first day but that wasn't really an issue. Today we had to head to LX Factory, an old reclaimed fabrics factory. It is now the home to a Coworker environment. After breakfast, we caught an Uber to our location.
We got to meet a couple of guys from Steemit Inc. The hackathon kicked off with a briefing first from Roeland, then @sneak, from Steemit as well as some other guys from Bitshares (bitshares.org/) and Decent (Decent.ch).
There was a couple of good ideas for some projects and I am keen to see how these turn out when the teams have to present there products on Friday.
After returning from a long day at the hackathon, we received our SteemFest swag. Next up is the welcoming drinks and the official start to SteemFest2 at the HF Fénix Lisboa.
