SteemFest! My Experience with all you Amazing People! Day 2

Today is my first full day back in the states and as I reflect on my SteemFest experience, I feel humbled and grateful for all the beautiful, intelligent people that are Steemit. As I read your posts, I see there was so much more that I didn't experience, but I am glad to have seen SteemFest through your eyes as well. All of these pics are either @lindseylambz's or my photos that we took with our phones.

I was also reading Dan's post and @krnel's post about reputation and it has sent me deep into reflection mode about myself and the world. I still have so much to say about all that I have experienced in the last few days, I will only be able to hit the highlights of some of the things that really touched me.

At The Tobacco Theatre

Roeland did a great quick intro to get things started in his tulip suit. I liked that he spoke of the dutch tulip bubble. I remember when I first heard of it from Michael Pollen's "Botany of Desire". If the story interests you, you should definitely watch or read "Botany of Desire"

Ned is such a great face for Steemit. He is also a great speaker in my opinion. He seems to be genuinely happy, inspired, and grateful for what he and the rest of the Steemit community are doing. His kind words to start of the show put my heart in a place of sincere gratitude for where I was.

I know this photo isn't the best quality but I wanted to include it, because I was so engrossed in the event, I forgot to take many pics. I still had my phone out at this point though and @heiditravels was particularly inspiring to me because she is doing something that I am planning on doing soon. To hear her talk about the way Steemit has facilitated her travel/writing experience gave me even more confidence than I had about my plan to do basically the same thing she already does.

Like I said, I didn't get very good pics of the event, but I want to share my view and say thank you to @firepower and @anyx. I really enjoyed their presentations and presence at SteemFest.

Now the Show is Over

I also really enjoyed talking to the locals. Common questions were about my thoughts on Trump being elected. It seems that many Europeans are more interested in American politics than I am! It's not that I am not interested. In fact, I am so interested that to see the system so broken has made me jaded. It's actually the reason I found Steemit. I think our only hope is to create something better. We still may need to fight the old way, but our focus needs to be on building the new way.. That's exactly why I am so passionate about Steemit!

But it's really just Begun!

If you want to get a quick look into the mind of the genius that is behind all of this and be inspired by what looks to me to be a profoundly new, modern take on government, please check out this post
