Attention: does anyone know what was the very first post on Steemit? Was it this from @ned:

ok, back to this regularly scheduled post:

The Steem Gnome is now official and is coming soon to a Steemian near you.

After several hours of grueling shopping (which I hate) in local stores trying to find an interesting plastic gnome in the middle of winter, I gave up my local search and went to eBay where I found this lovely German-made gnome. I ordered it today and it should be arriving to my house in a week.

This is him in the picture above! He's made of plastic so we won't have to worry about him breaking as he makes his way around the world, visiting various Steemians who decide to host him. I bet he'll be sipping green tea in Japan, visiting Times Square in New York and hanging out in abandoned car factories in Detroit! I also decided on this one because his little Steemy arms and legs are posable, meaning you'll be able to take him out in public, walk him like a dog or perch him on your shoulder as you stroll along your city streets.

At the time I announced the arrival of Steem's very own Gnome, I got inundated by requests for the little Steemy guy.

I used a first-comment-first-get method which meant that I'll be sending the Steem Gnome to @sumthnfrumnuthn first. He is in Detroit, so that will be Steem Gnome's first trip! After that, this global Steem experiment is quite out of my hands, so I'll have no say where he ends up next.........

I do have a suggestion though as far as how it's decided who gets him next: if we stick to giving it to the person who comments first on the next Steem Gnome post, then, that would seem like a fair deal. That's only my suggestion though, so this is not a rule as there may be some of you who are best friends, etc. and you will want to send it to your special someone......at the end of the day, you decide how to do it.

The reason I suggested the first-comment method is because that will drive demand for being on Steemit, as you won't want to miss your chance to host the Steem Gnome in your hometown.

I'll also mention that you can write your username and city onto the gnome, anywhere you want when you get him. That way, when it ends up at Steemit HQ, Dan and Ned and team will be able to see where he traveled. If you have any other ideas, go for it. Steem Gnome isn't a big guy, so we might all need to write our usernames directly on his body if space becomes an issue.

When will Steem Gnome be ready to make the trek to Steemit HQ?

Hmm......maybe Steem Gnome's purpose is to arrive back at Steemit HQ when Steemit is exactly one year old. I don't know the release date/launch date of Steemit, but if you do, please comment. I think that would be a fun idea, as a way to celebrate Steem's one year anniversary. What do you think?

I'll be adding the steem logo to Steem Gnome's pipe. Feel free to add things as he makes his way around the globe.

ps-- as I was shopping, my mind was sort of going crazy with ideas as I thought of other manifestations of things to send around the world. Here's a peek inside my spastic mind:

when I saw this gnome...

I wanted to make it like a crazy Steem Robot Gnome (an evil auto upvote bot gnome), something like this:

I had so many crazy ideas hit me at once that I became exasperated! Trapped inside my own mind!

Anyway, look for @sumthnfrumnuthn's post which he will do as soon as he receives Steem Gnome from me. We're using the tag #steemgnome for all these posts.........

It would be cool if someone could make a website for the Steem gnome, then people can see his travels.....If I made a website, it would suck pretty bad.....

Cheers,
Stellabelle
