As of today, the STEEM price is $0,12. Most low-income content creators don't earn more than approximately $10 a post. Back "in the day", the "average" earner made around $100 every time they posted.
Today's STEEM price: $0,12
Last July STEEM price: $4,3
The price has sunk 35 times!
The STEEM price greatly determines the payout. What if in another 5 months the price will increase tens of times? That means that anyone making $10/post technically could be making $350/post, should we see a similar price bump in the future. So why so sad? Why so serious? $10 today could be a hundred in a month, so why leave Steemit? This period in Steemit's history is about bulding up a following and creating solely for the sake of wanting to create. I see no reason why not to embrace this wonderful technology, and a low price is just a number.
You're not going to make a living off of Steemit at the moment, and it's a fact that needs to be accepted, but not taken as a sign to run away, for this is merely stage 2 in the rise of Steemit. Maybe stage 3 will mean a STEEM price of $15 a piece?
Example:
Think logically and understand that one might be able to earn dozens of times more in a time-span of just a few months. Going off the platform and calling it dead at this early stage is, in my opinion, very premature and unproductive.
