Flagging Wars

I didn’t intend to take part in a hot flagging war that started between a few whales and good number of esteemed members of Steemit community, but I can’t look quietly at this self-destruction of a very good idea.

Now, I have two simple suggestions that could end this fruitless war that is going very, very bad way.

  1. The only power whales should have, is the power to prevent malicious trolls to do harm to other Steemit members. That way, whales should start acting like guardians of community. It is in their interest, because their stake in Steemit can grow only if the community grows. Whales should stop judging on contents – that is a job for all community. If bots are problem, then they should be regulated with separate rules (ie. upvote would not be possible without opening content, so number of views never could be lesser than number of upvotes).

  2. Every member should have flag statistics. And if someone never used a flagging action, then nobody can flag him. If someone delivers 100 flags, then he can recieve a 100 flags.

I don't know if @dan and @ned have final word on this issue, but it would be nice of you who agree with this simple suggestion, to spread the word.

Good luck to all of you who want Steemit to prosper.
