Most posts you come across in google search describe steemit as “the social media that pays”. In fact, some bloggers mention it as an online business, where you work as a writer. Personally, I think the idea on which Steemit is built upon is not entirely a social media affair, but a blockchain where Steem is generated in a way other than mining. So it is business oriented.
Since hardfork17, there has been an argument if users will still be active on steemit without receiving rewards. They argue that, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks don’t pay users, but they have millions of active users all over the world. I don’t think that would be accepted by steemit users, because most of them joined with a different mindset other than socializing.
It’s obvious some streemians reduced their activities here after the hardfork17 that made potential posts rewards to be wiped off, and subsequent posts rewards low. If not for the sake of the not readily withdraw able steem power, some would have left steemit that time. Even those that have refused to admit this fact won’t remain here for long, should rewards be withdrawn. In case you really want me to believe that you are here just for the fun, please decline all rewards accrued to your posts (Smiles).
The hard fact is, Steemit is not seen as a Social Media; Steemit is seen as:
1. A money making machine.
2. A place to support a new crptocurrency project.
3. A means to do some charity work by helping new writers and donating some bucks so some guys in need through upvotes.
In as much as many streemians here don’t see steemit as a social media, let us try to make it a little more fun and a place to socialize with other users. Have You Promoted Steemit Today? Please do and help grow the community.
Steem On! & Thanks for Reading.
