I've been here on Steemit for almost exactly seven days now. I haven't slept very much, because it's all incredibly exciting here. As I am self-employed, I allowed myself to put some things back in order to dedicate myself fully to Steemit. In a way, it's part of my job too. So to look closely at and study potential channels. But I quickly realized that Steemit is more than just a traffic channel. Steemit is much more. And the virus infected me. I share the experiences made so far with you today.
1. Passion
One of the most important points for sustainable success on Steemit is passion. You must really feel like taking off here on Steemit. Really, really. If you bring this, you're already halfway there. I know you've probably read this note many times before, and you can't read it anymore, but it's really very important. This is exactly what I often heard when I started my own business in 2009. "Choose a theme you like," or "choose a theme you know about." Help! I couldn't hear it any more, and I also largely ignored it. My first projects had hardly anything to do with what really moves me. For me, it was really primarily the money that counted. The question "can I make money with it?" always stood in the foreground. That was good and bad. Good because I really learned a lot and was able to generate passive income quickly. And bad, because some projects would probably be much more successful today.
Just so we don't get it wrong, making money is a fancy thing. But without the passion over the years, you will simply lose the motivation to continue to nurture projects that don't itch you. No matter how much money comes around. I'm afraid that's the case, I promise you.
2. Great content
When I talk about content, I am always talking about content that pops into the brain. Contents that give pleasure. Contents that surprise and deliver real added value. Content that satisfies a concrete need. Contents that provide a perfect answer to a concrete need. We are talking about content that is pointedly positioned in a niche. Content created with love, content that and can be loved.
If you are now panting because you are not ready and/or able to do so, because it means a lot of work or is expensive (if you are going to buy the content), please take this advice to heart now: Let it stay! Don't read any further, close the browser, close your laptop and forget about the topic. There are already a lot of bad contents in the net. Your time and that of your readers is simply too bad.
3. Interaction
Comment articles on topics that you can really have a say in, or that really interest you. Not only short and clumsy "great article" or "thanks for sharing", but also contribute something. Something meaningful. Add the article to your personal thoughts, bring something with you, create added value. Be ready to give without getting anything. When something comes back, it's nice, but you didn't do it for that.
Stay humble and interact with the people who are so kind and take time to comment on your article. Start a conversation and continue. Always ask open questions to keep the conversation going. Ask a lot of questions and be curious, because that stimulates the resulting interactions. Always be honest and above all yourself.
4. invest in Steemit
Steem Power: The more Steem Power you have, the more weight your Upvotes have. You will get comments easy here on Steem if the Upvotes you have to give carry weight. Unlike Facebook, you can also Upvote your own article and comments here. On Facebook it is frowned upon to like oneself, it is schizophrenic. Here on Steemit you will advise to exactly do that.
Steem Dollar (SBD): A little pocket money in the form of SBD is helpful, to use Upvote Bots to speed up the start.
5. Use Upvote Bots
With Upvote Bots you can speed up the start. And by that I don't mean the bots you can get for free by mentioning them in the comments. These bots don't help at all. These bots don't have any power and therefore don't deliver any profit, they just spam your article with ugly comments and lots of links. You won't get past it, you'll have that plague at the beginning of your neck like a burdock.
For Upvote Bots you need some SBD. You send about 2 SBD to an Upvote Bot and this one will provide your contribution with an Upvote worth about 4.5 SBD. So you get back about 2.25 times your investment. This varies slightly depending on the use and bot and ranges from *2 to *2.5.
Here's my list of Upvote Bots:

How do you feel about that?
Kind regards,
Oliver
