The State of Steem - May 12th

Hello Steemians! Well, we said that big things would be happening and while all of them might not have been entirely our doing we are very excited about how things are progressing on the platform.

Team Member Updates

We are planning to do more regular updates from team members through their personal blogs starting with @zurvanic and @andrarchy.

Our goal is to give you insight into us personally, our thought processes, and our personalities. We’re all here for a reason. Steemit stuff may come out on personal blogs from time to time, but we’ll try to restrict that to our ‘official’ blogs.

We’ll do our best to give you a window into our worlds.

Zappl and Steepshot

In last month’s marketing update @zurvanic (VP of Marketing, Mitchell Loureiro) announced that “we want to see dozens of social media and content apps running on the Steem blockchain,” so we are extremely happy to see the progress of @Zappl (a microblogging platform) and @Steepshot (a photo-sharing platform) which are being developed on the Steem Blockchain.

Not only are both teams creating great apps that will advance the Steem ecosystem vision, but they are also a fantastic example of how existing tools and platforms can be leveraged to develop a project rapidly and sustainably.

Strimi

We are also happy to welcome the @Strimi Team to the Steem economy. Strimi.pl is a polish reddit competitor. The Strimi Team has decided to move their site to the Steem Blockchain and become the “Polish Steemit.” We’re happy to watch as more and more developers are seeing the potential value of leveraging the Steem Blockchain, especially those who have already invested resources in other platforms and are still making the switch. Welcome Strimi Team!

SteemQ

This is @furion’s side project, and it’s making steady progress. His goal is to bring video hosting to the Steem blockchain which we find very exciting!

There’s also apparent interest from the great people at Bitchute and we look forward to seeing where that goes: @officialfuzzy/breaking-officialfuzzy-and-jcalfee-open-up-bitchute-steemit-partnership-connection-will-the-community-rise-to-the-occasion

Busy

The @Busy team is hard at work, and their new wireframe looks amazing. Their hard work speaks for itself. You can check it out here: @busy.org/busy-news-three-months-beta-what-s-new-next

Steem Park

Finally, we’re extremely excited to see the progress that @voronoi and @hansikhouse (who collectively make up the design collective @hitheryon) have been making on their Steem Park project. They are not only demonstrating how Steem can be used to build things in the real world, but they are also using Steemit and Steem to flip the model of how public projects are designed and funded.

These are exciting times and we still feel this is just the beginning. As Steem grows, it becomes an increasingly better platform to build startups and social media on. We can’t wait to see what comes next. :)

More news next week!
