I have been looking for the layman term explanation to the recently proposed linear reward model by @steemitblog as seen here:
Proposing Steem Equality 0.19.0 as the Next Fork
Reading and rating the comments on the above post and the majority seems upbeat about the proposed change and especially, from that idea has come to the fore and i being proposed now, by steemit.
It is obvious that many steemians have been waiting for this.
Trying to understand the numerous comments and the @steemitblog's post itself, in layman terms and trying to envision what potential this has in improving steem and steemit; only one comment kept ringing in my mind and the amazing thing is; this very popular comment was not on the steemitblog post itself but can be found instead on many steemians' posts.
Hahaha, i am sure we are very familiar with the popular comments from @screenname that have been hitting our steemit posts for long.
For months, since i joined steemit; this comment has been relentlessly and passionately appearing on my post. It goes something like this:
This post has been ranked within the top 10 most undervalued posts in the first half of Apr 17. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $3.75 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.See the full rankings and details in The Daily Tribune: Apr 17 - Part I. You can also read about some of our methodology, data analysis and technical details in our initial post.
Hahaha, the above is a comment by the steemit user; @screenname!
I know, i have disregarded this comment several times. In the past, when i was new, i would feel a bit sad that my posts where coming off as undervalued but then i started to understand steemit better and i would just disregard these comments but perhaps, @screenname knew what they were saying all along.
With their relentlessness, they probably had a vision all along and understood it to the core. And perhaps, i am not wrong in my feeling that @screenname's vision is now tallying with what @steemitblog has in mind.
Is that it? Am i off the mark in my understanding of what a linear or flatter reward curve means?
@screenname did you check out @steemitblog's recent post?
Is that what you mean in your never-ending comments and your Daily Tribune?
Were you after a linear or flatter reward curve too?
@steemitblog, is this below, the layman explanation of a linear or flatter reward curve?:
