After reading the great posts today from @steemitblog about the coming changes (which I think are great) and the platform announcement from @busy.org , I am more optimistic than ever that Steem and Steemit have a great and interesting future ahead.
Those news inspired me to design something related to Steem.
I proudly present the Steem Engine
If you still wonder where steem is coming from, now you know.
Front and cross section
This model was a quiet comprehensive, that is why I didn't create a detailed step by step tutorial like usual. I am thinking about to record future designs with ScreenFlow to share with you.
But for now please find below gif's.
To complete the wheel we can use a circular pattern which copies and aligns the parts in the right direction.
I like to models that show a cross section. The best way to achieve that in this case was to first revolve a shape and that use the middle plane to cut it in half.
The piston head was done in drawing only the half and than using the revolve tool to bring it into a 360 deg. shape.
At the end of the model it is good to smoothen the sharp edges. I used the chamfer tool here.
I hope you like it.
