As steem continues to grow in beta one of the things it needs is devs to help build apps that use steem. The more apps that use steem the more value the coin will get. So if you're a dev, let the community know, there are a lot of apps that can help improve the network. You can also tell your friends and family about the site and post it on your social media pages to get the link out. But what if you're not a developer and your friends are tired of hiring about this awesome social media site that pays you. Well there is another option.
The posts of steemit get bookmarked by Google. Fast. Impressively fast. So every time you make a post your work will show up in Google search engines. That means millions of people, around the world, may come across your post, see the join steem link that non-users see and join the site. You can try to compete with the big searches (SEO, make money online, blogging) but do not forget about every other topic out there. People use Google for everything. Your posts about gardening, mechanics, movies, all of it will show up on Google.
There are various tips you can follow, such as making sure it is a certain length and using keywords that people would search. I wrote an article about how to use titles for SEO:

But do a google search and you can find more insightful strategies written by expert SEO writers.
The key isn't to write with only SEO in mind and don't be dishonest and just add things to make it show on the search engines but to write what you know and add SEO to it. You are the magician, chef, artist who has 20 years of expertise, write articles about those topics with SEO in mind and the numbers of visitors of steemit can see an increase
