White Belt BJJ Curriculum - Full Mount Submissions

white-belt curriculum1.jpg

Good afternoon submission junkies.....time to warm up and learn some technique. As a review, this is another entry in an ongoing serial which showcases the white belt curriculum at our BJJ academy. Good for people looking to demystify the mystery that surround BJJ training, improve their game or learn instructing from a fantastic instructor.

This class, we get into submissions from the Full Mount position. Among the most dominant positions in the sport game as well as in the streets if you are unlucky enough to have to fight there.

Personal Impressions and take-aways:

  • Americano/Key Lock - I learned this in my very first intro class so many years ago and thought I was the coolest guy in school.
  • Ezekiel - They obviously named this choke after yours truly. Hiding your hand prep with your head is a sneaky trick and that adjustment to snap it in tight is crucial.
  • Cross Choke - That forearm pressure is so good for making them open up to get a better grip and don't forget the Happy Butterfly.
  • Al Bundy? Tef Bundy? Ed O'Niell? Same same.

What's your go-to Mount Submission?
