This Boat has Saved 59 Lives!
The tsunami that attacked Aceh in December 26, 2004, has left the bitter memories which probably has yet to be cured. Approximately 200,000 people reportedly died. There are so many bitter memories of that period, which until now has been perpetuated as a monument to commemorate that devastating disaster.
At that time, the world mourned, even in some countries has eliminated a new year fireworks party, they did it as a form of sorrow to Aceh and other areas that affected by the disaster. (Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and India). I took this photo in December 23, 2014, nearly ten years after the tsunami hit. Unfortunately I could not take photos from a distance place, because it was populated mostly by the new housing projects.
The boat with a size of 30 meters has saved 59 lives. Swept away by the tsunami waves from the sea within more than 10 KM. Now this boat has gained buffer and anchoring of steel, thus making this "Boat on the house roof" as a new tourist destination for travelers that coming from domestic and foreign.
