This was me (Far Rigth) with my team and some other guests
Thanks to @dobartim for this contest, I came across the Steemit School Discord Link Luckily and I didn't hesitate to join afterward. I am a bit reluctant to join the contest cos it's seven weeks old already. The contest is Steemit Ultimate Challenge 8 Weeks and so I want to give it a try for the 7th week. Before I proceed, special thanks to @flysky , @aidasfg7 for donating to this contest and for running and starting the Steemit School Discord Group with @dobartim.
To those who have recieved, much is requested!
A Brief about Me
In few days time, I would be a full year plus on steemit; blogging once or twice every single day till now. I am in my thirties, single and extremely adventurous. That got me to develop a very wild fantasy instinct as An Electrical Engineer by Education and Training, but I love writing even though I never go-pro in doing so, i still enjoy my writing escapades on Steemit and back then in the real World. From the Image above, I started @steem-lagos when I still have a very High Hope in Steemit, my hopes got dented seeing a lot going on and without any futuristic amendments. Money is good and it is very important to have it in abundance, but doing so and seeing others around me wallow in poverty.
FINANCIAL AND LIFE COMMUNICATION
Before I found steemit, I was working with an IT firm in the city, with little pay but dozens of Adventures as a Remote Support Specialist. I have been to all the states in my country and even escaped Community wars where hundreds died in the carnage. For the security of my life, which seems to be missing in my job; I had to quit my job and start-up a replica service of the company I was working for which was hell. Start-up companies in my country hardly thrive because of the unfair policies of the Government to enrich their wallets the more and choke the small businesses.
So in Late 2016, I and my Brother @peman who is on steemit but lost faith too got an investor who invested with a huge Capital into our small IT Start-up Company; we ran into huge debt few months down the line but then I was already on Steemit but never earn something tangible.So in March/April 2017, I became active on Steemit, turning all the disappointment of my business into Blogs and Articles which gives me some sort of moral supports in terms of Upvotes and comments. In June 2017 I had my first withdrawal and it was a bit handsome because it cleared some debts and fixed our business car. That same June, I conceived the idea of @steem-lagos to empower youths and business owners using the disruptive nature of the Blockchain through steemit to raise some Capital for their Business and livelihood. So July I hosted the first Steemit Meetup in Lagos Nigeria, see pictures Below;

My @steem-lagos team

Afterwards, @steem-lagos organized some seminars and workshop and was invited to some other Non-Cryptocurrency events to introduce Steemit. By then, financially there were just little constraints, but I was sad inside because my mom never waited to benefits from Steemit through me,
she was a widow for 25 years before she passed away in May 2013 and there is still a deep scar inside of me. Life was a mixture of extreme SADNESS and a bit of joy, "having some steem to spend for my mom but she is in the Afterlife"!
Few people who knew me well loves me, I got the NIckname Captain Philips because I just have to make people around me feel happy. Some tagged me as unfriendly and uncooperative, but they have no idea the deep gouge of sadness inside of me which I try to overcome every time am with people.
Over a dozen people I have dragged to come enjoy Steemit, only a few are left as their stay wasn't so sweet and they all left. It pains me to see that happen despite trying all my possible best to keep them. Though I entered this contest so late in its 7th week, I still want to share some of my experience on Steemit.
As I write this, despite not having much Steem Power myself, I still Delegate 500SP to a contest @steem-lagos organized weekly for newbies to utilize and take up a bit of responsibility of helping other minnows alike. The contest is been on for 27weeks; aimed at empowering newcomers and make them earn something valuable even when the price of SBD was at $16, 5SBD was given out weekly for 25 good weeks. Financially, taking all those SBDs for myself or for the team is not bad, but we decided to put some smiles on others faces every weekend once the winner is picked.
EDUCATIONA COMMUNICATIONS
Although, I still wish to go back to school and study more; that would probably not be in this country. Hence @steem-lagos team decided to use Steem to introduce The Blockchain to Graders and High School Students in Nigeria. Here is the full description of the project in the Link Below:
