Virtual Steemfest as a lower barrier of entry - But what shall we do? - What is a virtual world anyway?

Virtual Steemfest could be easier to get to so long as one still has enough computer power to run the virtual world viewer.

Some may be familiar with Second Life if anything related to virtual worlds. Each post I have about a virtual #steemfest idea tends to generate over 100 votes and a little steem and attention. So figure I will work on doing more little by little.

What is a virtual world?

A virtual world or massively multiplayer online world is a computer-based simulated environment populated by many users who can create a personal avatar, and simultaneously and independently explore the virtual world, participate in its activities and communicate with others. These avatars can be textual, two or three-dimensional graphical representations, or live video avatars with auditory and touch sensations. In general, virtual worlds allow for multiple users.

This could allow for a simulation of a live Steemfest with members of the community as avatars. Everyone could share their blogs along with art, photographs, and pictures from some posts or projects.

Groups could even set up booths with numerous pictures. These could also be set up to forward to other links on the internet for more information. This could be posts on steemit.com and/or other websites. Note cards with information could also be created in the virtual world and handed out.

Each sim can handle a few dozen avatars at any given time. So there is a possibility of small meet ups, meetings, and/or presentations.

Communication in the virtual world can be with text and voice chat.

We could schedule different times for different areas and/or projects and presentations based on levels of demand and interest.

Performers could come perform live. There has been some interest expressed by a few potentially interested musical artists.

If interested you may see some of my other posts for more information such as creating an account with the virtual world of YrGrid. Downloading the viewer. Then logging into the virtual world. The standard viewer is for Windows and Mac. However there is also a lighter weight viewer. This may perform better on some people's machines and be of preference as well as being Linux compatible. It is called:
Radegast Metaverse Client - Lightweight client for connecting to Second Life and OpenSim based virtual worlds
