Most of us are here on Steemit to in some combination either create content, consume content, interact with the community or perform a roll. We all have the times that we feel undervalued for the time and effort we put in ranging from a lower than expected post payout, an underfunded project or to a lack of comments. There's no arguing how you feel since YOU are the one who really decides what is worth doing or not.
It is worth noting however that it is also OUR OWN decision on how to deal with these feelings. For some people these feelings of 'being undervalued' are directed towards becoming angry towards those 'not giving the rewards' and while understandable, it's not terribly productive. It is very unlikely that statements (or posts) that essentially tell others where to apply their upvotes or donations will sway others in the direction you are wanting.

My point is that when situations occur where you feel your efforts are undervalued, there are more productive methods that can be used to either better adapt.
Determine what is acceptable value. While it's not realistic to be expecting consistent $1000 post payouts (especially while the Steem Price has been floating for a while) trying to get it up into the 5, 10, maybe 20 dollar range is quite feasible. Sometimes we just need to adapt what we mean by being valued sufficiently.
Try to find what is causing your post or project to be receiving less than you expected. It's always a good idea to check a post formatting with simple presentation making it pleasing to the eye and easy to read. Often, there is nothing wrong with the content or project itself, it just might not be getting seen among all the other things out there. Some other post factors include timing (being in front of the right eyes at the right time or the topic/project being currently in vogue,) the headline/thumbnail not grabbing attention, or not quite having the 'starter votes' to get onto the hot pages.

The bottom line is that it is OUR decision what time we devote to things. If we feel that our work is being undervalued, rather then trying to sway other on how to spend their upvotes or donations, look at what is in YOUR control.
Take that directed effort and learn! Find what can be lacking, made better or more appealing. Determine what things you just feel like doing regardless of the rewards. And if nothing else, remember we can always choose to reduce the amount of time we work on things.
Don't Get Mad! Get Motivated or Demotivated!
Just Keep it Something Actually Within YOUR Control!
