Water and Tea are the only liquid substances consumed more than Alcohol in the world. The market Cap for Alcoholic drinks is expected to hit $1,594 Trillion by 2022 Allied market Research stated. With an insane demand for this substance, i have decided to write about one of it's effects aside Intoxication and all the DUI crimes committed.
The Truth Serum as often called jokingly; Alcohol(Whiskey, Spirits, Beer) is a psychoactive substance which is usually a part ingredients in alcoholic drinks producing effects like intoxication, high moods, increased sociability which tends to make individuals spill out their minds in some unfashionable manners. One of the reason why most people take alcoholic drinks whenever they are sad or depressed or even shy. This is where the boldness to talk to a girl, dance at a party, argue with ones Boss, spouse, friends and maybe roommates comes from in most cases.
Truth Serum!
Scientist had proven that Alcohol alters several chemical reactions in the body of any healthy human in the moments of consumption, of course it could be less effective in some failed body system(Reasons some could consume large sum of Alcoholic drinks with little or no effects on them).
Alcohol causes a bunch of dopamine to be released in the nucleus accumbens, hot-wiring the system; this makes people feels so good. Also it makes an individual over confident and makes them talk so much, considered a depressing agent because it depresses the brain functionality- Esther Inglis-Arkell
This explains why the ability to shut up and stop talking is missing, because the brain system had been short-circuited and there over-ride. You might be wondering why you wake up from an hangover and your friends starts relaying all what you had said to you which you might never have an inkling of what happened the night or hours before.
Chemical Reaction that Transpired;
This mood altering entity always affects the nerves which transmits messages around the body by making them slower but much faster in affecting the part of the Brain responsible for self control, hence the urge to talk uncontrollably and revealing several secrets inside you, the urge to sleep in the Middle of the road or in the Toilet etc. Ethanol which is present in most Alcoholic drinks is considered the truth serum which is a molecule containing two Carbon atoms stucked together to support an Oxygen head.

In technical chemistry terms, this Doggie-like ethanol(has shown above) has tow carbon atoms glued together to support one head of Oxygen, then six Hydrogen atoms spreads over the molecule to give each of the Carbon atoms two feet, the atom a nose and the rear Carbon atom a tail.
Alcohol works in the brain primarily by increasing the effects of a neurotransmitter
Like a Dogs Humorously do; it gets into all the corners of the body especially the Brain where it is not suppose to go. But because of it's compact and solubility properties in water(Blood Stream), it gets into the Blood stream and penetrates anywhere because of how compact it is; reasons why Ethanol could enter certain part of the Brain in-between the reward center of the Brain and part responsible for memories and associations known as the "NUCLEUS ACCUMBENS". This increases and affects the Neurotransmitter in the Brain called γ-aminobutyric acid, or GABA.

This is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, and by facilitating its actions, alcohol suppresses the activity of the central nervous system. The substance also directly affects a number of other neurotransmitter systems including those of glutamate, glycine, acetylcholine, and serotonin.- Alcohol (drug)
Alcohol is not that bad if taken in responsible proportions, it has it's good sides as well as bad sides. A glass of wine a day might be harmless, in fact it has been proven with several researches to prevent heart attacks in some cases and it has been proven to boost some individual body functionality to some extents. It's effects varies in Long term and short terms adverse effects on individual body system;
Short-term adverse effects include generalized impairment of neurocognitive function, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and hangover-like symptoms- Alcohol (drug)
Long term effects could be cancer, Kidney and Liver failure or even Death. There had been instances of severe drunkenness which could lead to instantaneous death especially when different components of Alcoholic drinks are combined together. Moderate drinking is always the best!
