Travel - Belgium - Bruges Part #3 - Architecture exploration

When walking into Bruges it feels like you're walking back in history. During medieval times Bruges was know as a commercial metropolis in the heart of Europe.

The town dates from the 1st century and remnants of the old walls can still be seen through the four gates that are still there today. According to experts the this historic centre of Bruges presents and outstanding example of an architectural ensemble... illustrating the significant stages in commercial and cultural fields in medieval Europe (got this info from here: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/996).

After our boat trip admiring the back streets of Bruges, we continue our exploration by foot. We physically crossed the entire town by foot and then sat down for a well deserved beer. ;)

Tell me what you think and stay tuned for more?!
