My two favourite motives in photography are contrasts (shadows) and sunrise/-set. If you read photography tips, you will always see a point saying that the afternoon with the sun up is not the best time for taking pictures and I can argue with that.
Through the day sun is constantly moving and the shadows of objects changing their intensity and angle, and it's pretty fascinating how many different interpritations an object can have.
Let's see an example:
- Because Portugal is such a great inspiration for me, I'll use a photo of Torre de Belém I took in Lisbon in April. This photo is a combination of the two: soft sunset light and high contrasts.
And the second photo is from the same place, and Im sorry that it wasn't taken with much love as the first one, but it's because I wasn't quite impressed with the light .
So as you can see, the first photo gives us a sense of mystery and the second one seems to be just a 2D pic.
I think of photography more like of an experiment and finding motives and angles that make places and people special for you.
Thank you for your attention. And if you'd to share your ideas in photography, I'll be happy to hear them.
