A day late, but hopefully you'll forgive me that - some days are just like that.
I'm taking you along with me as I create a new card deck for myself. I will create it with an American Indian theme as I did once before. What is Lenormand? - check out my previous article.
Card 3 - the Canoe
Again, I am using artistic license as the original card is a ship. For my American Indian deck, a canoe makes far more sense.
When we think of the boat, we tend to think of:
- Travel or journey
- Holiday or time off
- Possible change of course (depending on other cards)
- Business, such as importing or exporting
Really, anything you would think of when thinking of a boat is a possible interpretation of this card. Knowledge of the situation plus the combinations with other cards are essential here.
If I saw the canoe next to the tipi, I'm guessing that it's travel home. With the rider, it might be a visitor. With the fish it's possibly simply a fishing trip - or a profitable business trip. Again, context is essential.

For my new card, For my new card, I hit Google Images search, looking for something with CC0 (Creative Commons 0) licensing meaning that I don't always have to remember to credit someone - essential if I were to start doing paid readings with these cards. I hoped to find a good authentic picture (preferably a dugout canoe) with CC0 licensing, but that wasn't to be.
I also had to find out which traditional playing card is associated with this card. So, here is my result:

Previous cards: 1 Rider; 2 Dreamcatcher
