TIL In Finland Speeding Tickets are calculated on a percentage of the person's income

This isn't something I "TIL'd" just now, but wanted to share since I am sure not too many know about it.

A Nokia executive was ordered to pay a fine of 116,000 € after being caught breaking the speed limit on his Harley Davidson motorbike in the capital, Helsinki.

I think if this would be implemented into the U.S. many would be a lot more careful of how they drive. In comparison a ticket for a multi-millionaire of 100 $ is nothing compared to a middle-class person receiving the same fine.

What are your thoughts on this law? Would it work in the U.S?
