We all want to have a good night sleep after doing our work but most of the people do not care about lights and its effect on our sleep. Our body generates non-voluntary response when we comes in contact with light. There is some sort of biological clock regulating the sleep. Exposure to light causes the body to send signals to the brain that control temperature, hormones and other functions. According to a research, Exposure to light just before the bed time may affect your sleep and even cause depression. These things happen unconsciously and most of the times are underestimated. It becomes very important when it comes to a pregnant woman. They need to have a good night sleep to keep their baby healthy so that the baby can get all the necessary nutrients needed.
Sleeping in the dark has a lot of benefits. Mainly, It helps to produce melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone, in our body. What is Melatonin? Melatonin is a very powerful antioxidant helps to prevent cancer, alzheimer, fibromyalgia, insomnia and keeps body healthy. Even the smallest exposure of body parts to light while sleeping may interrupt the production of this hormone and consequently affecting the sleep and lowering down the body efficiency. Before going to sleep make sure to turn off the light and cover your window curtains to avoid any exposure to light and have a beautiful morning.
