1200 PEOPLE DIE EVERY YEAR OVER SNEAKERS
After hearing about a 15 year old boy being killed over a pair of sneakers… I jumped online and --
Today I learned.., that 1200 people die every year over a pair of sneakers. Back in 1989 a 17 year old boy led a 15 year old boy into the woods and strangled him for his 2 week old Air Jordans (I swear my heart just broke a little writing that sentence). When Mr. Jordan was told about this horrendous incident while sitting in front of his locker, he was almost bought to tears.
In this case, the killer was just that -- a piece of shit killer. Before killing this boy for his god-damned sneakers, he sodomized him. After getting out of jail 7 years later he strangled an stabbed a relative. 3 months after that he murdered his girlfriend. In 2012 he raped and murdered a young woman.

Although this one incidence of murder had little to do with sneakers.., and was caused by a sadistic son of a bitch with problems way beyond not having the latest pair of Air Jordans. Boys and young men are being killed to this day over the latest "hot" pair of sneakers… On October 11th 2016 a pair of Jordans sold for over $22,000.00. Why this happens is anyone's guess… Is it the desire to have what someone else has, that you can't afford… Some people try and blame the marketing. Whatever the reason, killing someone (1200 every year) -- makes mw think we all have failed, somehow.., as a society. It makes me sick!
