Sword Canes, Valuable Antiques-- TIL I Looked Them Up Online!

Watching one of the Sherlock Holmes movies not long ago, I noticed that Watson's cane--  a concealed sword-- was like a cane/sword that I have. Actually I have two of them, and when I looked online, the story was that these sword canes were made in India or Pakistan, and were allegedly issued to English army officers in the late 19th century.

Excited to share them here, I looked for the article about the canes being issued to English officers, but what I found instead was that apparently these can be found in tourist shops throughout India, even today. So today I learned that the 'antique' sword canes that I like so much may not be as rare or old as I thought.

There remains the possibility that they are actual antique canes, and I still like them anyway, so I'm going to keep entertaining the idea that they are awesome. I got these from my dad, but I don't know where he got them, or how long he had them.
