Loket Castle (Czech: Hrad Loket) is a 12th-century Gothic style castle about 12 kilometres (7 mi) from Karlovy Vary on a massive rock in the town of Loket, Karlovarský kraj, Czech Republic. It is surrounded on three sides by the Ohře river. -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loket_Castle
Loket Castle is one of the oldest stone castles of the Czech Republic. Near the castle is the town of Loket. Interestingly, as the translation means "elbow".
For a long time the castle was a border guard. Then was the king's residence. The decision to build a resort town of Karlovy Vary was made precisely in Loket Castle.
The first floor of the castle is dedicated to archeology. All the exhibits were found in the castle or in the mountains around. Very interesting exhibition of medieval weapons, and porcelain. In the basement is a torture chamber.
And this is the view from the castle roof.
