Hsinchu City, Taiwan Gate
Taiwan is a very unique area to live, work, and explore. You have a cross cultural Chinese, Hakka, and Aboriginal cultures that cross the city, and countryside landscapes. Hsinchu Taiwan is no different, and has a busy city center with an active technology sector.
Food here is also a fusion of Chinese, Hakka, and South East Asia flavors. Hsinchu City basically translates into "windy city" and this makes for their famous wind dried noodles. When you go to the morning market these noodles, and other local delicacies can be made to order or prepared for you to enjoy on the spot.
Exploring Hsinchu has it's challenges, but you are guaranteed to find many treasures, and great food all along the way.
Hsinchu County has it's own high speed train station so your ability to be in Taipei or down south at the beach in Kaoshung can happen very quickly. There is a train service from the city center that can take you this station, and runs regularly all day.
Architecture can be very different, and sometimes gardens, and small houses are built on top of a small apartment building. People here prefer to utilize all available space, and being wasteful is not something they prefer to do. Everything is recycled from un-used food to metal, plastic, computers, and much more.
Next time to you decide to visit Taipei Taiwan consider venturing south on the High Speed Train to Hsinchu, and enjoy an area of Taiwan that tourists don't venture too often, and enjoy the sites, sounds, and great food.
